I am Jonathan Calabrano, I born and raised in Santiago, the capital of Chile.
I live specific in municipality of Maipu in Santiago.
I study all night of the week in Professional Institute AIEP, because i am studying in Night School.
My career is Business Administration, and my major is Finances.
Well, I live with my girlfriend in our house. Her name is Trinidad and we both study the same career.We have a dog, her name is Perla.
About my parents, they live in Maipu with my little brother his name is Francisco, my father is Joel, his accountant, and my mather is Maria.
My hobbies are cross country in bike, and go to the cinema with my girlfriend. I prefer action movies and she romantic movies.
I came to Chicago, because I was favored with a scholarship that AIEP give me for my good grades.
I want to know and tour the city, your museums, parks, stadiums, stores, etc. And learn English to speak better.
I want specifically in these four weeks is to learn English, to speak and understand better this language.
About the Picasso sculpture, at firts I think is "this sculpture seem the face of monkey", I remember the monkey of the movies "The Lyon King" , if I am not mistaking it is name is Rafiky and this is mandril.
Cultural Center:
This place is very beautiful, for it's roof and stairs, because this have marble and stones very nice.
Really this place it is not very interesting for me, but is a good place for know.
Art Institute:
This place is very beautiful, because I like the miniatures of different parts of the words, and the design in other periods. The techniques are wonderful and i can see dedication in this work.
My favorite piece of art is the Vincent Van Gogh, "Self Portrait of van Gogh". This picture is very famous in the world and I feel excited when I saw in front of me. I don't know much of Art, but I had read about this artist at school.
The other thing I liked in Art Institute are the arms and armor, because I dismembered the movies about the medieval time. In this floor say this armor is not only for fighting, in other situation the people wear for important celebrations. Also it is worn for sporting events.
I like very much the clothes of original Missouri Tribe, with feathers of different colors. This is great !.
Sincerely, this place I don't like very much, because I feel this art pieces are not original, if not copies or similar piece.
I never realized how much Picasso's stature reminded me of the Lion King! Now every time I see it that is what I see. HA! Good interpretation! Each day your comprehensions should get better and better. We do a lot of activities that promote reading, writing, listing and speaking. Try not to speak too much in your native language and practice English. Also, I want to read more from you. Keep writing in your blog! I want to see more posts.
